Statement on continuing tides at Kings Beach
Dam Kings Beach advises that tidal activity has continued at Kings Beach since the release of the Kings Beach Salt Runoff Containment Proposal on 1 September. There have been about 94 high tides in that period, each of which has wetted the lower beach and drawn salt-bearing water back into the ocean. None of them has been assessed.
The organisation has no authority over the tides. A further statement will be made if circumstances change.

The Kings Beach Salt Runoff Containment Proposal is a proposal to build a 6 metre concrete wall between the sand and the sea at Kings Beach, Broken Head, NSW, to stop salt reaching the ocean. It has not been approved and no works are scheduled.
